When can we hope for the next one? wondered La Salida, the argentine tango magazine published in France when it awarded its favorite of the month October 2006 to the first Piazzolla CD of the Belgian group Astoria. A string quintet, a grand piano and the fluttering chromatic accordion of the leader, Christophe Delporte: at first sight Astoria's approach is classic like the background of its members. The surprisingly vivid light in which Piazzolla's work is set always allows for the rhythm, lyricism and charm of "tango nuevo". This second album, with the added sensations of the percussions of Santo Scinta, was recorded on the 3rd of August of last year, during a concert at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. The audience, a full house, did not regret attending.
