When Ronald Van Spaendonck, one of today's best clarinettist takes interest in the sonatina, all apprehension linked to this genre disappear. This anthology, alternating known and unknown, classical works from the 20th and creations of the 21st , brings us in at a wonderful buffet of desserts, the one more delicious one than the next. French spirit, Jazz humour, bucolic charm and malicious tawdriness, everything is offered, even three works never recorded on disc, to allow chamber music amateurs to enjoy a real moment of pleasure. Eliane Reyes is the worthy partner of such a firework all along.
