Bach performs works by his contemporaries…

Johann Sebastian Bach performed works by other composers alongside his own in the regular Sunday services that he directed in the Thomaskirche; these included the Missa brevis by his distant and talented cousin Johann Ludwig Bach as well as two unique and astonishing cantatas by his pupil Johann Gottlieb Goldberg.
Florian Heyerick now returns to this repertoire after his highly successful recording of Graupner’s Ein Weihnachts Oratorium.
